Aims & Objectives of the course:
The course will provide delegates with information on the different types of hoist available, sling choices, sizing and correct application for a wide variety of scenarios and patients. It will cover hoist and sling checks for safety (current legal requirements), how to dismantle and assemble portable mobile hoists and how to safely move a patient from one hoist to another in the event of a complete hoist failure. In addition, delegates will have the opportunity to move one another to and from a variety of
situations and for that reason all delegates will be required to be hoisted themselves.

Delegates will be required to take part in the practical elements of this course and will be required to select and apply the correct slings for a variety of hoisting scenarios as well as be able to demonstrate how carry out hoist safety checks. Certificates of competency last for 1 year, and are run in line with the guidance and standards set by National Back Exchange.
